Will Rincon / Rubicon ever go electric?

I've been a long-time Rincon owner and I've loved my '06. The old girl is still running strong, but with all the new electric stuff coming out, my buddy and I began exploring the idea of it going electric. Has anyone seriously looked into or even done a conversion on a Rincon / Rubicon to electric? The engine is a beast, but the idea of instant torque and silent operation for trail riding is really appealing. I'm not talking about some half-baked project with golf cart motors, but a proper conversion with modern batteries and a powerful motor.

What kind of challenges do you think someone would run into? The transmission seems like a major hurdle. Just curious if anyone has some real-world input or has even considered it. It could be a cool project but not sure if how it will perform if it indeed goes electric. Thoughts?

The main things we're up against are getting the motor to work with the current transmission and squeezing in enough battery for good range. Also, keeping the motor and controller cool is going to be tricky

Cool idea! I've got a 2006 Rincon 680 and I've always wondered about going electric especially for the quiet and torque. Biggest challenge I've heard is the automatic transmission. it's built for a gas engine's RPM range, so swapping in an electric motor means you'd likely need to bypass or replace it entirely. Still, with the right setup, it could be an awesome build, I think. Would be great to see someone pull it off!
